Qabalah Lecture Series

Throughout this series, the basic tenets of Gnosticism are discussed in detail.  More than the accumulation of experience (in contrast to faith and belief) Gnosticism is about attaining a full measure of consciousness, striving to actualize one's personal potential and become fully human.  Success is shown in how one's life comes to fruition; that one begins to flourish as a human being and not just exist. 

Additionally, ancient Gnosticism is discussed and compared to modern Gnosticism.  The viewpoint of the classical world was far more pluriform than is generally understood.  Some Gnostic communities were strictly ascetic as others were far more sensual and even Tantric.  The mix of Chinese, Hindu and Buddhist thought mixed with the Egyptian mystery schools and Hebrew theology that evolved through the Greco/Roman period in European history.

Today, Gnosticism is manifesting in different ways.  There are those working strictly with the fragments of ancient Gnostic manuscripts.  And there are others taking basic Gnostic ideas into the Hermetic tradition that has always run under the radar of the traditional institutional religions of the world.  Theosophy and Rosicruicianism are showing us a history of our culture that has been suppressed for centuries.
