Manifesto

of the

Ambrosii Magi Hortus Rosarum

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

The A.M.H.R. is a confederation of Gnostic Churches with its flagship church: The Gnostic Church of L.V.X. upholding the standards of a Thelemic tradition.  It seeks to join in with other community oriented and Gnostic churches conforming to the principles of Liber AL vel Legis (Life, Light, Love & Liberty). Additionally, such member churches should have forged a link with the A.’.A.’. and the College of the Rosy Cross; also known as ‘the Great White Brotherhood’. Under such spiritual guidance only, can it be understood as a vital and living community in the ‘Aeon of Horus’…the Throned God charged with overseeing the evolution of humanity during this mundane Aeon of Horus in the Age of Pisces and in the triune Manifestation of Sagittarius.

The sacraments contained on the G.C.L. page are the first step in a much larger dream. Contained within are all our rituals that involve the rites of passage in the living celebration of a planned Thelemic community. So many times in the journey of the Aspirant do these existential rites need to be supplanted by more mundane practices as to deprive the Aspirant the spiritual bend that make the rites of passage in life so sacred. And we seek to share our openness for others to join in with our effort. So I hope what you are about to experience will elicit a response.

It should be noted that a functional community is a wholesome and spontaneous relation of men and women of free-will and mutual respect and admiration.  It cannot be forced nor can it grow through proselytization.  Inspiration is its hallmark; intelligence is its fortification; Love under Will is the nature of its work and progress.  We can only "build it" with reverence and hope that "they will come."

The central, most sacred rite that ties most of our other rituals together is the Gnostic Mass. However, our rite differs from that which might be called the more traditional rite composed by the Master Therion. And several catechisms on this are also contained within the GCL directory on this site. We still very strongly respect the original version and it is that version to which this updated version must still refer itself to for access to the root, 'Kore' of our tradition. The modifications upon this rite now speak to a more enlightened generation of stars and offsets the Victorianism of the first century of Horus.

These rites are intended for use in a fully functioning community.  Yet though we have a few churches, and at this stage of development, it remains necessary to plan for growth while asserting the divine dignity of every individual who is amongst US.  For want of a better phrase, one can say that it is our intent to build ‘A City on the Hill’ with the same fervor upon which the Founding Fathers built the noble America from which we hail.  This collective engine will fortify us in our pursuit of Light, Life, Love and Liberty and into the next exciting century ahead of us. Surely we will share in the bounty of the Yew Groves of Yama.

We declare the initiatic and religious systems of the mundane 'Aeon of Osiris’ as having lost any practical viability. Especially included in this is the general pseudo-Masonic formulae for such rites as are still practiced by some better-known Thelemic fraternities. Additionally, the false notion of fraternal association has devolved into pubescent squabbling between these organizations. This coven-like inter-association has clearly been shown to reflect cultic overtones; proffering an identical dysfunctionalism as found in the now outmoded nuclear family.

It is apparent that no organization or body politic can legislate or initiate in such a way as to control the orbit of individual ‘Stars’. Yet such an anarchic association of free-willed beings needs the binding of community in order to interact and evolve through the nature of that interaction. The Master Therion’s ‘Star-Sponge’ vision is certainly an appropriate study for examining this point in greater depth. (See the commentary to Liber AL vel Legis within this website.)  But also know that it is Plato who teaches us the real function and purpose of our Politeia.

The A.M.H.R. seeks to recognize Gnostic Churches that are willing to adopt the Feasts, Rites and Rituals of the G.C.L.; our ‘flagship’ church. Note there are no dues or fees to become a member of this umbrella organization. The only stipulations are as stated above and that a local ‘Council of Elders’ be seated with the power to legally incorporate a church as a ‘non-profit religious organization’. The Senior Elder on all of the autonomous bodies will meet once every five years (at the inauguration of the periods of Speech and Silence) to reach consensus agreement on the issues of the times as this august body again, flourishes and the current is renewed!

Love is the law, love under will.
