Manifesto of the Ambrosii Magi Hortus Rosarum
Inaugurated By Order of the August Congress Of the Acting Council of Elders of the GCL Summer Solstice 1998ev AN XCIV
Greetings!
Celebrating our ninth anniversary!
Summary of Research Here's some links to various research pages on these websites.
A trilogy on the origins of modern day religions is an excellent introduction to the work:
This is followed up by some discussion from our spiritual discussion group:
You may even want to follow this up with some more information to be found at: jesusneverexisted.com
This leads to two very significant documents that expand the overall theme; showing the origin of ancient and modern religions are derived from the story told by the zodiac:
From there, things become a bit more anthropologically political:
Adding yet again, to the breadth and depth of overall theme, things move into science:
Next, we move into the arena of biology; still developing the same theme:
There are several other themes that have been developed that connect with this on a more, shall we say, religious and philosophical vein that are less accessible without an understanding of the philosophical system of Thelema. And indeed, reading through even these links that I've given you, because of their connection to Thelemic philosophy, will require that you be able to read and not understand an occaission idea or reference. But I hope you get something out of this and I'll be curious about your critical opinions on the ideas that you do understand.
Gnosticism requires no faith, but an honest investigation into experience. From this comes the knowledge (Gnosis!) that you yourself are god of very god and living amongst gods. This is the summit of human evolution. And it's key is a 'knowledge of the heart' obtained by learning to live in a world of contending forces; gods striving amongst other gods to establish each their own reign in this universe of time. To accomplish this, the formula must include love as its foundation to guide the will forward in life.
This is the key, that the soul isn't just something rewarded or punished when you die as has been told to us for centuries. Rather, it is something that must be nurtured and developed to bring wholesomeness and meaning to this life and our experience in it. Indeed it has its own nature that needs to be brought forth and expressed. Life then is measured not by what we believe in, but by what we do. We take responsibility for ourselves, first and foremost. Only then can we reach out in community and communion with others.
This is the way of the gardener who plants a seed in the heart of life. The seed is watered, germinates and grows to a full garden. The nectar of life is taken from the flowers that flourish therein. A fine ambrosia is made from its fruit; such an ambrosia hailed by the ancients as the nectar of the gods. Consider a rose that grows on a cross of light at the heart of our being. One who contemplates this is called a Rosicrucian. And our assembly of such gods who would consider this is called a Rosicrucian Mass.
At major issue today is the superstition given to us by the institutionalized religions in our culture. Intelligent people not only see a lacking of common sense but also find no heart and no soul in the moral whining that is extended from the pulpit of these established houses of "worship." Indeed, they can't see any love for any god that compels such worship under threat of torture and 'eternal damnation.' And they don't understand why such a god would be keeping such close tabs on their 'good' and 'bad' behavior.
It seems a given and obvious truth that we each need to pursue our own dreams and ambitions and that such dreams are our birthright. We hold this truth to be self-evident and the rights that need to be enforced to manifest this will as inalienable. The right to happiness and the right to property are beacons that shine like the Statue of Liberty, holding up her lamp in the hearts of all humanity. Happiness is the manifestation of Love and property is the manifestation of Will.
Our formula is Love under Will. So you'll hear us recite these two mantras: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will.
In the Greek language, Thelema translates as Will or Will of God. And Agape translates as Love or Universal Love. This should help you to get greater insight into the nature these two mantras. Love is the fabric of the Universe itself and Will is the expression of divinity; the Fiat L.V.X. or 'command of light.' We are light beings and the stuff that stars are made of. To hold this in the foreground of our attention in each moment of every day is truly divine grace.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. The A.M.H.R. forms the umbrella organization for its flagship church: The Gnostic Church of L.V.X. It seeks to join in with other community oriented and Gnostic churches conforming to the principles of Liber AL vel Legis (Life, Light, Love & Liberty). Additionally, such member churches should have forged a link with the A.’.A.’. and the College of the Rosy Cross; also known as ‘the Great White Brotherhood’. Under such spiritual guidance only, can it be understood as a vital and living community in the ‘Aeon of Horus’…the Throned God charged with overseeing the evolution of humanity during this mundane Aeon of Horus in the Age of Pisces and in the triune Manifestation of Sagittarius. The sacraments contained on the G.C.L. page are the first step in a much larger dream. Contained within are all our rituals that involve the rites of passage in the living celebration of a planned Thelemic community. So many times in the journey of the Aspirant do these existential rites need to be supplanted by more mundane practices as to deprive the Aspirant the spiritual bend that make the rites of passage in life so sacred. And we seek to share our openness for others to join in with our effort. So I hope what you are about to experience will elicit a response. It should be noted that a functional community is a wholesome and spontaneous relation of men and women of free-will and mutual respect and admiration. It cannot be forced nor can it grow through proselytization. Inspiration is its hallmark; intelligence is its fortification; Love under Will is the nature of its work and progress. We can only "build it" with reverence and hope that "they will come." The central, most sacred rite that ties most of our other rituals together is the Gnostic Mass. However, our rite differs from that which might be called the more traditional rite composed by the Master Therion. And several catechisms on this are also contained within the GCL directory on this site. We still very strongly respect the original version and it is that version to which this updated version must still refer itself to for access to the root, 'Kore' of our tradition. The modifications upon this rite now speak to a more enlightened generation of stars and offsets the Victorianism of the first century of Horus. These rites are intended for use in a fully functioning community. Yet though we have a few churches, and at this stage of development, it remains necessary to plan for growth while asserting the divine dignity of every individual who is amongst US. For want of a better phrase, one can say that it is our intent to build ‘A City on the Hill’ with the same fervor upon which the Founding Fathers built the noble America from which we hail. This collective engine will fortify us in our pursuit of Light, Life, Love and Liberty and into the next exciting century ahead of us. Surely we will share in the bounty of the Yew Groves of Yama. We declare the initiatic and religious systems of the mundane 'Aeon of Osiris’ as having lost any practical viability. Especially included in this is the general pseudo-Masonic formulae for such rites as are still practiced by some better-known Thelemic fraternities. Additionally, the false notion of fraternal association has devolved into pubescent squabbling between these organizations. This coven-like inter-association has clearly been shown to reflect cultic overtones; proffering an identical dysfunctionalism as found in the now outmoded nuclear family. It is apparent that no organization or body politic can legislate or initiate in such a way as to control the orbit of individual ‘Stars’. Yet such an anarchic association of free-willed beings needs the binding of community in order to interact and evolve through the nature of that interaction. The Master Therion’s ‘Star-Sponge’ vision is certainly an appropriate study for examining this point in greater depth. (See the commentary to Liber AL vel Legis within this website.) But also know that it is Plato who teaches us the real function and purpose of our Politeia. The A.M.H.R. seeks to recognize Gnostic Churches that are willing to adopt the Feasts, Rites and Rituals of the G.C.L.; our ‘flagship’ church. Note there are no dues or fees to become a member of this umbrella organization. The only stipulations are as stated above and that a local ‘Council of Elders’ be seated with the power to legally incorporate a church as a ‘non-profit religious organization’. The Senior Elder on all of the autonomous bodies will meet once every five years (at the inauguration of the periods of Speech and Silence) to reach consensus agreement on the issues of the times as this august body again, flourishes and the current is renewed!
