Thoughts on the Gnostic Mass

         Catechism 3 for the Gnostic Mass

        Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.  

The original Gnostic Mass as conceived by Sir Aleister Crowley reflects the Victorianism of his impish nature.  As per the prevailing lucid criticism, it is as a ritual, "Spermo-Gnostic".  In other words, it propagates the idea that the semen contains all the energy of life and by inference, the ova is non-essential in this process.  This couldn't be further from the truth.

"For he is ever a sun, and she a moon. But to him is the winged secret flame, and to her the stooping starlight." AL I.16

While the Sun carries the Prana, it has its correlative in the Moon, creating a polarity that is vital to the production of life.  And we know as did the ancients that there is a special lineage in the ova that makes it even more than half the DNA formula.  This secret is found in the Mitochondria itself.

The original Gnostic Mass is still propagated by a large body of people known as the Caliphate O.T.O. and contains the dramatic though veiled revelation of their IXth Degree secret, which again, is "Spermo-Gnostic".  There are some who argue that this is yet a preparation for a Xth Degree formula that is beyond the seeming misogynistic device.  But this seems outside anything that Crowley ever referred to as his description or the original O.T.O. states that the Xth Degree is merely an administrative degree.

Within the Sanctuary of the Gnosis of the A.M.H.R., the mass has been reformulated in order to capture the true libertine nature of the Aeon of Horus, the Childe of the Mass.  We recognize this formula as a development of the preceding Osirian Aeon, which, coincides with the first of three Aeons in the 9th Manifestation of development on this earth and known as the Manifestation of Sagittarius.  The new mass then serves as the final preparation for the Aeon of Maat or Aeon of Truth as prophesized in the Message of the Sphinx.

In light of this teaching, this is the first Gnostic Mass that captures the true essence of the Aeon of Horus.  It is a development of the Piscean formula and fulfills the true will of it's creator as expressed before his death when he directed those in his charge to reformulate the O.T.O.  The Caliphate has refused this directive and insists on retaining the Osirian nature of its Mass and Initiatory rites.  It is the intent of the A.M.H.R. to rectify this and invoke the energy of this Aeon as this is our time!
